RE: ONLINE DATABASES-Circuit and County Court
By Order of the Hinds County Circuit Court, effective October 1, 2013, attorneys may voluntarily participate in the Mississippi Electronic Court System ("MEC") by filing pleadings electronically in cases. The Order provides specific instructions on what and how to file electronically, and it requires attorney registration. To register, please visit the MEC website http://courts.ms.gov/mec/mec.html. In addition, you should review and study the Administrative Procedures found on the MEC website.
The court's Order also provides that use of the MEC filing system will become mandatory for all MEC cases beginning November 1, 2013. After that date, all cases will become MEC cases after a single pleading has been docketed in paper form. We will, therefore, very quickly arrive at a point in which all cases are subject to e-filing and the governing Administrative Procedures.
All cases and documents filed on or after September 13, 2013 may be accessed via the Mississippi Electronic Court System ("MEC").
