For this office to transfer a title & tag - have the following items:

• Original title (signed by owner or owners as shown on the front).
  
  
• Odometer disclosure statement if vehicle is newer than 10 years.
  
  
• Copy of current tag receipt if purchased from individual (to verify no back tax is due).
  
  
• New owner or owners must be present to sign title application (unless a notarized power of attorney form is used).
  
  
• Window sticker with MSRP for new cars.

• Seller shall remove license plate from the vehicle and surrender the tag and receipt to the tax collectors office for credit towards another tag or a certificate of credit. No refunds.
  (Bring tag within the same month the vehicle is sold)
  
  

• A special area is available to expedite senior and or disabled citizens. These taxpayers are urged to take advantage of this special service for their convenience
  
  
• Payments can be made by cash, check, or credit card with a 2% surcharge, however, if you are paying with a personal check, tags or decals will be held for 10 working days. You can bring in a statement from your bank showing that your check has cleared in order to pick up your tag or decal before the 10 days are up.
  
  
• You are responsible for renewing your license plate(s) before the expiration date even if you do not receive a renewal notice. Late penalties will be due if you do not renew the tag within 15 days after the tag's expiration date.
  
  
• The tax collector's office is not responsible for tag or decals lost in the mail.
  
  
• No long lines! Get served within 5-10 minutes.
  
  
• An ATM has been installed for the taxpayer's convenience.
  
  

    ** TAG MUST BE PURCHASED WITHIN SEVEN (7) WORKING DAYS OF PURCHASE DATE TO AVOID PENALTIES **

    Mail Fee - $1.00 to cost on renewals or $2.00 to cost on new tags.

    Antique Tag - The cost is a one time fee of $26.00, if a current tag is issued to the vehicle. An antique vehicle is 25 years old as of October each year.

    For new model vehicles - Bring the window sticker which has the manufactures suggested retail price (MSRP) before options.

    Other motor vehicle tag costs are based on the vehicle identification number (VIN No.)
